The Rostraver Central Fire Department has a Recruitment and Retention program, funded by a 2021 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant.  The program provides benefits to new and existing members, which include:

• New recruit physical examinations
• Department provided personal protective equipment
• Costs of basic firefighter training and certification
  • All members can seek fire, rescue, EMS, and hazmat training and certification with the department covering expenses
• Volunteer firefighter stipends
  • Once certified, members can receive monetary stipends for participating in at least 20% of monthly responses
• Duty shift stipends
  • Members that meet qualification requirements can receive monetary stipends for providing on-duty station coverage
• Tuition assistance
  • By providing a service commitment, active members can have up to $5,000 of the annual cost of ANY post-high school education reimbursed
