The Rostraver Central Fire Department's Junior Firefighter Program aims to enlist, train, and equip young adults for active roles in firefighting within the community. The program includes the following steps:

• Submission of initial applications for 16-17 year old males and females.
• Screening and investigation processes to ensure alignment with department goals.
• Interview with the applicant and parents conducted by the Fire Chief to explain the program.
• Completion of a physical examination (school physicals are acceptable).
• Acquisition of working papers from the School District.
• Comprehensive training both in-house and at the WCCC Fire Academy.
• Participation in fundraising and support functions.
• Involvement in emergency operations.
• Transition to the role of Senior Firefighter at the age of 18.
